Happy Birthday Uncle Dan & Uncle EngSoon

Today, we went down to VivoCity's Hog's Breath for lunch to celebrate Uncle DY & ES birthday. The place we sat had a very nice view, especially for Baby G as we could see the monorails leaving VivoCity enroute to Sentosa and monorails leaving Sentosa enroute to VivoCity. Baby G was so excited. Every monorail that he saw, he'll tell us "Mummy, Daddy, train coming".

The food was not too bad, I think most enjoyed what they ordered. We took quite a lot of pictures like we've haven't seen one another for a long time. Here are some of them :-

And here's picture of the 2 birthday boys (with Baby Kate).

After the meal, we went shopping as Auntie Stef wanted to get a phone, ended up, uncle ES also decided to get one. He looked very excited (not sure if he finally bought the phone as we left earlier after the coffee... uncle ES, let us know)

We then proceeded to Harbourfront's Starbucks for coffee and more chit chat. The kids warmed up and started to play with one another. Baby G actually took hold of Mei Mei Gwyn's hand and walked with her, but I think, in his excitement, he held her hand too roughly and she didn't like it and didn't want to walk with him after that.
==> This was before he held her hand too tight... haha.

Baby G then played 'catching' with Che Che Chloe and finally, played peek-a-book with Mei Mei Kate. He liked playing with her so much that when we wanted to go home, he kept crying "play mei mei" all the way to the car park. Luckily he fell asleep, else we would not have heard the end of it.
As I am writing this, he is still sleeping. The poor boy is so tired!

Baby G's Wounds

On Monday (23rd Sept), Baby G was bitten by one of the children at his ChildCare Centre. The poor boy was bitten on the left ear and the wound looked quite bad. This would be the 4th biting incident from the same boy!!! This boy (let's call him Student Z since he's a minor and cannot be named) bit Baby G twice within 2 weeks and a total of 4 times, each about 2 months apart. Soon Baby G will have scars all over him, courtesy of Student Z.

As concerned parents, we decided to write to the school to ask them to look into the matter and to prevent such incidents in the future. The Centre Manager has arranged to meet up with us on Sat to discuss this issue. Not that we are trying to blow up the matter, but the poor boy has nightmares; waking up at times, saying "Student Z bite , pain pain". My heart goes out to Baby G. But the ironic thing is when I ask Baby G who is his friend, he'll say "Student Z". The teachers tell us that the two of them play together quite often, but they both also like to get into skirmishes over toys or games.
My friend & colleague, M told me to teach Baby G to punch back the other boy or at least, ask the teachers to muzzle up Student Z a la Hannibal Lector to prevent him from more biting... hahaha....
Will update more here after talking to the teachers on Sat.

Bus Ride

We spent a day shopping on Sat as I wanted to get a new dress. We parked nearby Comcentre and took a bus to Taka as Baby G wanted to "sit bus.. sit bus". He was so excited when he saw so many buses stopping, kept pointing out and asking us to "stop bus... stop bus".

We had dinner at ThaiExpress @ Paragon. Baby G enjoyed the prawn balls and Daddy enjoyed the Olive Rice, but I didn't really like the Seafood Green Laksa.

By the way, I finally managed to get my dress.

On Sunday, we spent most of the day at home, except in the morning when we went for breakfast & grocery shopping at NTUC @ AMK Hub. Again, we were lucky enough to get the "car trolley" for Baby G. He was so happy and he quietly sat in the car and never once complained nor made any noise. If only we could get the "car trolley" everytime we go grocery shopping, life would certainly be more peaceful and we'd probably be able to get our shopping done much faster. As usual, leaving the car was the most difficult part. Baby G kept saying that the car belonged to him and pitifully cried "Want sit Beh-brel car" over and over until he fell asleep in the car.

After he woke up, I was cleaning up the store room and he saw the potty that was kept there. He took it out and told me "ugh ugh" and sat on it. Another photo opportunity.. haha.

We went to AhMa's place for dinner. He kept playing with the SCDF helmut and "ducky" tricycle. AhMa gave him a lunchbox with handle and asked him to buy hamburgers and give everyone. He actually pretended to give out hamburgers from the lunchbox to all. Everyone was quite amused by his antics.

Bon Voyage, Uncle Alan..... Happy Mid-Autmn Festival

The first part of the blog is dedicated to Uncle Alan as he's going away for a year's stint in AUS.

Today, both me & Baby G went down to VivoCity's Marche to meet up with Uncle AY. Baby G enjoyed the entire MRT ride from Sengkang to Harbourfront, standing on the seat most of the time to look at the opposite platforms to see if he could catch a glimpse of the trains.

Uncle AG & us arrived at the same time, while Uncles AY, DY, Auntie Stef & GorGor Zac were already there. I packed Baby G's lunch in the new Food Warmer that I bought the other day. I think there were too many distractions over there, so he didn't finish his makan. In the end, I had to finish it for him. After some time, Uncle AK & Auntie BT arrived. Auntie BT looks very different since seeing her about 2 months ago. Blame it on all the carbos. She's due any time. Soon Baby G will have another DiDi to play with (or is it bully).. haha. Also, a special thanks for Auntie Stef for the lunch treat... we should have this more often... heh heh.

We left VivoCity around 5plus to go to AhMa's place. The queue at Vivo was so long, I decided to take a train down 1 station to Outram. When we reached there, it was raining & I didn't have the brolly. Baby G kept complaining that he was wet. Luckily, we managed to flag a taxi to go to AhMa's place.

At AhMa's place, we celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival. ShuShu put up lanterns along the corridor. Baby G was so enthralled. Daddy finally arrived, Baby G was so excited to see Daddy. Everywhere Baby G went, he wanted Daddy to follow him. He even held Daddy's hand to make sure Daddy follows him. So sweet.

Happy Mid Autmn Festival!
Bon Voyage, Uncle AY.

Daddy's Busy

The past week, Daddy has been busy at work, coming back really late and didn't get to put Baby G to sleep. Almost every night, just before going to bed, Baby G will cry out "Call daddy... call daddy", so I will pick up the phone and call Daddy and let Baby G talk to him on the phone. After saying "bye bye", Baby G still is not satisfied and keeps crying out "call daddy come home" repeatedly until he's tired and falls to sleep on his own. Baby G really misses Daddy.

Today, even though it is the weekend, Daddy still needs to go back to work, leaving both of us at home. We watched a bit of Barney TV in the morning and played with Baby G's train set.

We also played 'peek-a-boo' (my own version) before Baby G was all tired out and finally took his afternoon nap.

In the evening, we went out for dinner with MaMa, Grandpa & YeeYee and then we went to AMK Hub's NTUC for some grocery shopping. Daddy met us halfway and we went home togather. I think Baby G was so happy to see Daddy that he didn't even sleep in the car and was still quite wide awake when we reached home. Only after drinking his milk & when Daddy joined him together in the room did he finally fall asleep. Nite Nite, Baby G.

Ah Ma's Birthday

In the morning, Baby G woke us up quite early, so we decided to go out for breakfast & grocery shopping. We went down to KouFu at Compassvale for the very nice carrot cake, but too bad, it is no longer the usual chef, so it wasn't as nice as previously. We also ordered the breakfast set and when Baby G saw the half-boiled eggs, he 'scrambled' for it. We broke the egg and mashed it up for him to eat. He really enjoyed it very much, ate the whole egg on his own, he even scrapped the plate just to get the last portion.

After breakfast, we went to Giant@Tampines for our groceries. Baby G was relatively good this time, quietly sitting in the trolley and did not really make a nuisance of himself (unlike the previous Giant trip @ VivoCity.. see earlier post). Baby G even helped us to place our items into the trolley, actually, it was more like 'throwing' it into the trolley.

In the evening, we went down to MacPherson for Fish Steamboat dinner with AhMa, AhGong, GuGu, ShuShu & YeePo as it was AhMa's birthday. At one point, Baby G grabbed for the bowl of hot soup and spilled it on his hands. His hands were kinda red after that and he cried quite pitifully. But we managed to calm him down by showing him the road diggers along the road, but the poor boy kept telling us "Mummy, hand pain" and showed us his semi-scalded hand.
After dinner, we went to Central (Clarke Quay) to view the Mid Autumn Festival lanterns on display. YeePo bought Baby G a Mickey Mouse lantern which was quite nice.

After the walk, we went to TCC@Central for desserts. We ordered a cake for AhMa and sang her a brthday song. Baby G was so lively there. He sang songs with us and even danced.

While uploading the photos, I managed to find a photo taken a year ago for AhMa's birthday too. See how much Baby G has changed. Notice that AhMa wore the same clothes for both years' celebration... heh heh.

MediaCorp At Lower Pierce

This morning, we went down to Baby G's school to meet up with the new Centre Manager, Mrs Wong. We were a bit worried about having to send Baby G to childcare on a full day basis come 2009 as the school no longer allows half-day classes.

As it was still early to meet up with GrandPa, MaMa & YeeYee for breakfast at Casaurina Curry, Daddy drove us to Lower Pierce Reservoir for a short stroll. We managed to see 2 monkeys and Baby G was so excited. It's his first time seeing a monkey in the "wild" (The ones in the Zoo don't count).

It was warm yet very breezy, too bad Baby G wanted to be carried the whole time, perhaps it's because he wasn't feeling well. The flu bug caught up with him the previous night. To our surprice, MediaCorp was there filming. We saw Terence Cao & Ivy Lee with the entire film crew. We stayed there for a while, watching them and we even managed to take some pictures.

Vivo City

We were supposed to go to Vivocity to let Baby G try out the open-air play area, but the moment we walked out to the patio, it started to drizzle. Baby G looked so disappointed. From then on, we knew that the remaining of the day wouldn't really be that great.

We decided to go shopping instead, but Baby G was quite uncooperative, insisting on wanting to be carried all the way. When we tried to put him down, he simply clung on to us and wouldn't let go; just like a koala bear. Both Daddy & me were exhausted from carrying him most of the time.

We went down to Hog's Breath for dinner. We had quite a good view of the trains going into Sentosa. That was the highlight for Baby G. Every train that past by, Baby G kept saying "Mummy, train..." and he even stood up from his baby chair. The buckles can no longer keep

Baby G down. Dinner wasn't too bad. We shared the Chicken Burger & Cajun Salmon. The chicken burger comes highly recommended. The patty was very juicy even though it was chicken breast meat. Baby G ate the porridge that we brought, but the moment he saw our curly fries.... he decided that the porridge wasn't as appetizing and wanted the fries instead. Luckily, he already ate 1 bowl of porridge and so we allowed him small pieces of the fries.

Baby G is getting more independent now. He'll want to feed himself instead of Mummy feeding him. Good for him. That leaves Mummy more time for herself.
==> Here u see Baby G trying to get the fries.
After dinner, we went to Giant to do our weekly grocery shopping. Phew! What an adventure. Baby G was so difficult to handle. He was at his worst behaviour. From grabbing everything off the shelves and putting them in the trolley to crying loudly and climbing out of the trolley. I smacked Baby G a couple of times. He cried even more and gave me a pitiful look, but I was not going to fall for his tricks. In the end, I think he was simply exhausted from 'fighting' us, when he got into the car seat, he immediately slept soundly. We finally had a peaceful drive home.
What a day!

RSAF - 40th Anniversary

I didn't manage to update the blog last night as I was not feeling well. Anyway, yesterday, we visited the RSAF 40th Anniversary Open House @ Paya Lebar Air Base (PLAB).

As Daddy was afraid that there wouldn't be enough parking lots, we decided to park at Hougang and take the shuttle bus to PLAB. Baby G was very excited as it was the first time that he'll be taking a bus. Baby G kept saying 'sit bus... sit bus'. He behaved pretty well. We queued up and soon the bus came and we were on the way.....

Our 1st stop was the RSAF Museum where all the 'old' planes were on display. As we were rushing off for the aerial display at 5pm, we did not have a chance to view all the planes on display.
At 5pm sharp, the aerial display began. As we were so near the planes (about 50m), the sounds were so loud. Baby G was terrified. He told us 'scared'.... and clung on to Daddy, looking very subdued. But when we saw the F15s, F16s flying high in the sky, he became excited again. But the moment the planes got nearby, he got scared again due to the booming sounds from the engines. We saw Super Pumas, Chinooks & the F15s/F16s performing.

After the aerial display ended, we slowly took our time to enjoy the things that the open house had to offer.
=> Here is Daddy & Baby G (he's still recovering from the scare he had)
