Day 5 - KL & Home

Since it was our last day, we didn't waste much time leaving the hotel for some last minute shopping. In other words, 'chiong ah'. This time we went to Berjaya Times Square. We took the monorail down. Baby G was very happy to be able to ride in the train again. He stood all the while in front, just behind the driver and watched. Too bad it was only 1 stop away, you could see the disappointment written all over his face.

The weather started to get colder as the drizzle became much more heavier. This time, the shopping didn't really captivate me as much but Daddy managed to get a really nice Adidas bag for his recently purchased Netbook. Good buy. Actually, I've been wanting to buy a nice card case as my current one was about to give way, but searched high & low and can't find anything suitable. Either it was too small (i.e. can't hold enough cards) or too expensive or not nice at all. In the end, I gave up and then we saw Krispy Kreme donuts. Knowing how much Baby G loves his donuts, we decided to stop for a break.

Too soon, it was time to get to KL Sentral to catch our train to LCCT. We took a taxi to KL Sentral and Baby G fell asleep again. This time he was really tired out, he slept all thru our brunch even.

Finally Baby G woke up and when we told him that we were going to take a train ride, he got all excited again.

Once we reached LCCT, we checked in our luggage and went to have a light meal at OldTown Coffee. Baby G made friends with the waitresses there. He really acted cute with them. Haha. So this time, we just sat there enjoying our meal while someone else took up his time.

Soon, it was really time to leave our dream holiday and back to reality. After slightly more than an hour of flight (due to plane delay), we touched down in S'pore.

Day 4 - KL (One Utama)

We decided to spend the entire Day 4 at One Utama, one of KL's larger shopping mall. Also, because Daddy has not been there.

As it was slightly drizzling, we had breakfast in the hotel. We had Roti Chenai, Teh Tarik & Nasi Lemak, courtesy of Daddy who went out in the rain to get us our breakfast.

==> Our breakfast

After the simple yet filling breakfast, off we went to One Utama. We took a taxi there and the trip cost us around RM22. Daddy commented that he didn't realise it was that far away; even Baby G fell fast asleep on the way there.

1st stop was Jusco, as we wanted to get Baby G a pair of sandals, but as he was still sleeping, we just walked around first. When he woke up, he said he was very cold; come to think of it, it was really cold. I guess it's because there weren't that many people around on a Thursday morning.

==> See how bundled up while trying his sandals.

We managed to get his sandals & off we went to do more shopping. More shopping for Mummy actually.

After all the walking, we stopped by this Italian restaurant for our lunch. What a good choice. The food was presented so beautifully & not only that, it tasted simply delicious & the price is, oh so, reasonable. The entire lunch costs less than $20 per person.

Clockwise => Clam soup, Brushetta, Fetuccine With Sausage, Chicken, Baby G enjoying his kid's meal, Mummy just enjoying herself.
After lunch, more shopping & walking. Baby G simply loved the place cause there were so many chances for him to sit on those mini-rides as there weren't that many children there.

After spending almost the entire day at One Utama, we decided to take a cab down to KLCC. Bad move, no taxi driver wanted to pick us up from One Utama to KLCC via meter. They all quoted a flat rate of RM50, citing traffic jam as the reason for not picking us up. Daylight robbery, I say, we're decided not to give way & held on to our resolve of not giving way to these errant cabbies. In the end, we stayed back another half hour and had coffee at Starbucks. We managed to find a taxi booking counter that quoted us RM30 to KLCC. At least they were much more reasonable.

After all that haggling, we reached KLCC & had our dinner at DOME.

Day 3 - Genting & KL

Today is the last day at Genting. I think I'm going to miss the view from our hotel room the most. Among all the hotels we ever stayed in Malaysia, this is by far, the room with the best view.

We still had some leftover cash in the game card we bought on the 1st day and since we still had some time before our bus to KL, we decided to play like crazy. We purposely picked the games that had the highest chances of getting the most tickets. In the end, we managed to accumulate enough tickets to change for another set of prize. Not too bad for about 30mins of 'work'.
Soon it was time to check-out and go to the bus terminus for your journey to KL.

==> Goodbye Genting, Hello KL
During the bus ride down, Baby G started to get sleepy and soon he was fast asleep on my lap. Once we reached KL Sentral, we took a taxi to our hotel, Dorsett Regency. We did a quick check-in and off we went to do some shopping. The Xmas deco in Malaysia is really so much more nicer and elegant as compared back home.

I told Daddy that I was craving for dumplings and we found this place at Pavilion called 'Dragon-I' that serves dim sum. We ordered dumplings (of course), ramen and an interesting drink which is actually water chesnut with a tiny ginseng root. Doesn't look that great but boy, it was really refreshing and nice, not too sweet at all.

We rested for a while longer after our meal and then off to some more shopping.

After all the shopping, it was time for makan again. We planned to go down to Chinatown for the famous black noodles. Everytime we are in KL, we must come to Chinatown for this. Actually, it's not that great already, but I guess it's kinda like tradition to us. This time, instead of taking the taxi, we decided to take train. We took 3 different types of trains. I can tell you, Baby G was so happy. Although we was pretty disappointed that each ride was no more than 2 stations.

And finally, after the very tiring train rides, we reached our destination. I think the colour of the noodles put him off and he didn't want to eat it at all. So we order fried rice and he also didn't really finish it. In the end, his dinner was his packet of 'SMoo' milk that we brought along.

Genting - Day 2

We planned to start off as early as possible as we had a long day of Theme Park fun ahead. Normally we need not set an alarm clock cause we have a 'living alarm clock' who will always tell us "It's morning time, wake up". This time, I guess due to the previous late night & the comfortable bed, Baby G slept later than usual and didn't wake up. By the time we were ready for breakfast, it was almost 9am. As the accomodation came with a buffet breakfast, we went down to the Happy Valley Restaurant.

==> Daddy & Baby G enjoying their breakfast
After breakfast, we went to buy our day pass for the Indoor & Outdoor Theme Park.
Since the weatherman predicted intermittent rain, we decided to go for the outdoor rides before it started to rain.
After 2 rides, we started on the 3rd ride called 'Antique Car where you can 'drive' and the car will take you around the Theme Park area. Baby G enjoyed this one the most cause he thought he was really driving the car, although the control was at the foot pedal to keep the car moving along the tracks. Just about 3/4 of the way, it started to rain cats & dogs. Although we were sheltered by the car roof, we still got kinda wet. Once we got off the car, we bundled Baby G into his raincoat.

Since it was raining pretty heavily, some of the outdoor rides were stopped so we had no choice but to go for some of the indoor rides. We came across the kiddy bumper car and thought that Baby G would enjoy it. However, for this, there was a height limit, so only Baby G could ride the car and no parents were allowed. This time, I still cautioned Baby G from getting off the car since there were going to be so many moving cars around and more dangerous that the Safari Jeep. However, I wasn't as worried as previously. The moment the gate opened to let the kids in, Baby G rushed in and got into one of the cars. Looking at him, I thought he'll be able to drive around. Who knows, Baby G didn't know how to step on the pedal and his was the only bumper car that was not moving and yet being bumped into. He kept turning his steering wheel and looking a bit bewildered as to why the car was not moving even though he was turning the wheel furiously. It was quite a hysterical sight to see the bumper car stranded. In the end, the attendant went over to his car and helped him to step onto the pedal so that his car could move.
==> Poor Baby G was stranded

After the bumper car, we decided to give Baby G a break and went onto more sedate rides. We went on the Ferris Wheel (Singapore Flyer to Baby G) & the gondola ride before going for lunch.

==> Lunch @ Pizza Hut

Just nice, after lunch, the rain also took a break. We quickly went out again to check out more outdoor rides. We found the Space Shuttle & Dinosaurland. After the Space Shuttle, life will never be the same for Baby G. He got scared of this particular ride. I guess it's because we were in the dark the majority of the time & we were all alone & there was this alien creature that suddenly rised up during the ride. Baby G was quiet throughout the ride except for a few "I don't like this" & "I want to go out" soft cries. He was very subdued when we exited. To calm him down, we took an outdoor version of the ferris wheel. After a while, he became much better and we went on to Dinosaurland.

As the Dinosaurland journey ended, it started to rain again. Since we couldn't do much, we decided to go for dinner instead. After our simple yet fulfilling dinner, we continue with a few more rides before calling it a day.

What an exhausting yet exciting & fun day. Tomorrow will be another day of fun & lots of travelling.

Genting - Day 1

This post is 2 weeks late. But because of my nagging cough, I wasn't in the mood for blogging. Finally, managed to organize the photos for posting.

We left for our first overseas family holiday on 30th Nov, Monday. Baby G was pretty excited cause we kept telling him that we are going to take a plane. He's been looking forward to this for the entire week. He woke up without much fuss and we managed to get to the airport pretty early. We immediately checked in so that we had time to roam around T1 & T3. We haven't been inside T3 since it opened so this is the best opportunity to do so. We stopped at Toast Box for breakfast. Look at how Baby G makes himself comfortable.... just took off his shoes and chill.

When we reached Malaysia via LCCT, we took the Skybus to KL Sentral to get our bus tickets to Genting. As we still had about an hour & a half before our bus came, we had our lunch at the food court @ KL Sentral. Food was so-so only. After that, we just walked around KL Sentral, waiting for time to pass.

Baby G fell asleep while on the way up to Genting, but he woke up feeling excited again when he realised we were going to take the cable car. He's been missing the cable cars in S'pore and was very happy to see them again at Genting.
We stayed at Theme Park hotel. It's the 1st time we've been there and got lost while following the signs. We finally managed to reach our destination.

Our first stop was the Vision City indoor arcade games where we bought a RM50 card to play. As you can see, Baby G enjoyed himself so much. As usual, he loved the cars / motorbikes and wouldn't leave them. We just let Baby G sit at the 'racing cars' whilst he pretended to drive. I must say, he really looked pretty convincing as a driver. When the car on screen swerved, so did Baby G. Haha.. quite a funny sight.
We continued to walk around the place and saw this Safari jeep. We asked Baby G if he wanted to take a ride in it on his own. Needless to say, he said 'yes'. As he was first in the queue (actually, he's the only one in the queue), he got to ride in the first jeep. After that, as there were no one else, the attendant started the ride. Baby G was all alone. Actually, I was a bit worried that, in his excitement, he'll stand up and fall down. So I followed him around while the jeep went around the tracks. Guess my worry was unfounded. Good job, Baby G.

After all the fun & excitment, we stopped by for a scrumptous dinner. After the very filling dinner, we walked around. It was so cold.

We did so many things that we decided to retire for the day so that we'd have more energy for the indoor and outdoor theme park.
We were all pretty tired out and although we went to to our room, we didn't sleep. We still chatted with one another until Baby G fell asleep.
Tomorrow.... we shall conquer the theme parks.....
