Taiwan - 6th Nov 2011 - Day Four

Our 4th day started later than usualas we had a tiring previous day.  Even our first stop was something that didn't require much effort.  On the schedule, it says 'Diamond Factory' so I was expecting some factory that shows us how diamonds are collected.  In the end, it was more like shopping for diamonds.

Even Baby G was bored and promptly fell asleep.  So Daddy carried Baby G outside to rest.  In the end, I bought those 'magnetic' bracelets and went to find Daddy & Baby G.

After our stop at the 'Diamonds Factory', we went on our way to take our domestic flight to Hualien.  Upon learning that there was another plane ride was enough to get Baby G all excited again and he did not even complain when we woke him up upon reaching the KaoHsiung Domestic Airport.

We took the shuttle bus service to bring us to the plane directly.  While in the bus, Baby G took a quick shot with Uncle Jonathan.
Very soon, we were getting ready to board the plane.....

After a hour's flight, we finally reached Hualien.
Our bus driver was waiting for us at the airport to take us to our next destination, Taroko Gorge (太鲁谷).

The bus driver let us alight & allowed us to walk about 15mins by the side of the mountain.  We all had to put on safety helmets due to possibilities of falling rocks or stones.  Initiall Baby G was pretty worried about the falling rocks & kept reminding Daddy to walk faster and not to take so many pictures.  After a while, he became a bit more confident & started to follow us on the trail.

All too soon, it was time to get back onto our bus for our next destination.  We had to return the helmets.

The next stop along the trail is the "Eternal Spring Shrine" (长春祠),  This was built to commemorate the 212 veterans who gave their lives towards the building of the Central Cross-Island Highway.  The original shrine is show on the right-hand side (the gray looking patch).  However, it was destroyed during the major earthquake & the new one now stands at its current position.

After a long day of walking & scenary admiring, we went back to our hotel for our buffet dinner.

Baby G did not feel well during dinner.  He threw up a bit and looked pale.  So we let him rest while we ate, planning to bring him up once we finished our dinner.  As we ate, he overheard us saying that there was a indoor pool at the hotel.  He perked up & said he wanted to go swimming, however, we told him that he was sick.  In the end, he miraculously became better & had some food too.  Then he also acted all perky, so different from the boy who just threw up.

After dinner, we explored the place before actually jumping into the pool.  We also found a mini-playground beside the gym.  Baby G got all excited & started to play.  While Daddy went to the gym, me & Baby G decided to go to the indoor heated pool.  Both of us really enjoyed ourselves.  We even had the entire pool to ourselves.  Super cool.

Our hotel for the 4th night was Park View Hotel.  They also had the most super spacious room.  Even the beds were large enough & even though I had to share with Baby G, I managed to get a really good sleep.  Perhaps it was the heated pool that helped too.

With the good night's rest, we are ready for Day 5 of our Taiwan adventure.....
