Kusu Island

Today we went down to Kusu Island. We took the ferry from Marina Barrage, can you imagine that the tickets cost $16 per person??!! Even Baby G's tix costs $12.

It was pretty hot when we reached there and Baby G suddenly developed a slight fever. We were a bit worried that the heat would make it worse, however, he seemed to be ok. He followed Daddy around, praying to the deities. After that he saw lots of turtles/terrapins/tortoises & was fascinated by them.
Later we climbed up a mini-hill via a long & winding staircase. Baby G actually climbed up all by himself and climbed back down. What a strong boy! Very proud of him. Actually when he reached the top of the hill, he exclaimed, "哇!累啊!累啊!". We had a good laugh at his expression.

Just as we reached the bottom of the hill, the weather suddenly changed from very hot to very windy. It started to get cold & showed signs of a soon-to-be heavy downpour. We rested for a short while & took the opportunity to take some photos.

Wedding of KM & ZC

Baby G had a very important job to do on Sunday, 25th Oct. He was tasked to open the car door for the groom. Overall, I think he did a pretty good job although I helped.

Actually, on that morning, I was worried that he would be kinda cranky coz we had to reach there quite early and the night before we had a birthday celebration (see previous post). Surprisingly, he was really excited and super friendly. He posed and smiled everytime we asked him to.

He was so interested in the sistas tricking the brudders. He tried to get into all the action.

Not to mention, the super friendly poses & kisses to everyone.

Congrats to KM & ZC!

Happy Birthday Auntie Pat

We celebrated Auntie PT's birthday at Lingzhi Vegetarian Restaurant on Saturday. What a great turnout, even a rare guest of honour graced us with his presence (u know who u are.... heh heh).

Dinner was really good, considering that it was entirely vegetarian. I definitely enjoyed the food & the company.

After dinner, we proceeded to TCC for coffee & the traditional slice of cake for the birthday girl. Over at the Velocity TCC outlet, there is a table soccer for the customers. The kids all wanted a piece of the action, not to mention the adults who also shouted & screamed with excitement.

Wishing Auntie PT a very happy birthday!

No School Day - 16th Oct

Today, Baby G doesn't need to go school, so I took the day off and called my family out for a family outing.
Initial plan was to have a quick lunch @ RTC and shopping @ Orchard, but plans have a way of changing whenever Baby G is around as he's the one who usually calls the shots. :)

After our lunch @ RTC, we brought Baby G to the bowling alley while me & YeeYee played some video games. Later Baby G spotted a flight simulator game and he was enthralled and we were stuck there for at least another 20 mins. We also played table soccer. Baby G, YeeYee & myself were on one team & Mama & Grandpa was on the other. Baby G & Mama took control of midfield positions while Grandpa & myself were in charge of the defense. YeeYee was in charge of attacking. Baby G scored 1 goal from his midfield position and Mama also scored a couple of goals. Top scorer was Mama with 3 goals (but 2 were own goals... haha).

In the end, we still dropped by Orchard as Mama has never been to ION since it opened.

A Day with the Birds

It was an early morning for us, as early as waking up for work. The reason? We're visiting the Jurong Bird Park, courtesy of GuGu's Family Day event. It's been ages since I've last visited the place. I only remembered the parrots, macaws & the cockcatoos that greeted us at the entrance. Now the JBP is very much spruced up. It's also Daddy's very first time at JBP.

The slight drizzle made it a very cool morning. The 1st bird that greeted us at the entrance were these very beautiful black swans.

The first enclosure we went to were the Penguins. Think it's Baby G's first real live encounter with penguins. There were 2 huge penguin 'mannequins' at the entrance & Baby G was really afraid of it. He only agreed to take photos with it provided someone was with him. However, at the end of the entire trip, he actually was ok to sit on it.

We first went to look for GuGu at her Family Day event, there were many game stalls there, but as usual, Baby G is always very scared of new environments. We thought that we could interest Baby G in some painting, but in the end, it was Daddy who ended up doing all the work while Baby G just watched.

However, what Baby G was interested in was the wet area. Luckily I brought extra clothing for him. He enjoyed himself, but we only let him play for a while since the weather was still pretty cold.

After the lunch, we started to explore the area more thoroughly. We even stopped by this area called Lory's Loft where I had a close encounter of the multi-coloured Lories. Their claws were really sharp & not to mention, they are really very greedy birds. One Lory even used his feet to kick another Lory away just to get at the food that I was feeding. What an experience! As always, Baby G always stood a safe distance away.

==> To GuGu, thanks for the treat!

Dinner With CC from Malaysia

My colleague-cum-friend came down for a business trip last week. As we were located in different offices & there was not enough time for lunch, we arranged to meet for dinner instead. CC kindly agreed to come all the way down to Sengkang to meet me as I needed to pick Baby G up from school.

Initially, Baby G was quite shy shy.... but soon, after dinner, he became more friendly & talkative. He helped auntie CC with her shopping @ Cold Storage by putting the items onto the trolley. He even followed her into BreadTalk, leaving me waiting outside by myself. At the end, he even gave her 2 pecks on the cheeks. I haven't seen him behave like that with someone whom he met the very first time.

Mid Autumn Festival 2009

We went over to Ah Ma's place to celebrate Mid Autumn Festival. Baby G was so interested with the way Shu Shu was lighting up the candles.

We initially gave him a Batman-designed one with the candle, but when he accidentally dropped it, we were so afraid it would catch fire, we let out a shout.. and from then on, he was afraid to carry it. Instead, he decided to carry the battery-operated Ultraman lantern (it sure was noisy with the chinesey music).

All of us (6 adults & 1 child) went downstairs with the various lanterns, but sad to say, it was drizzling so we only strolled along the void deck.

Here are some pics :-

What a fulfilling Saturday

Desserts - Chocolate Bread Pudding

It's been a while since I baked something new. Found this Chocolate Bread Pudding receipe and decided to try it out.

The ingredients are pretty simple and I had most of it except the cream & milk which I bought the night before together with Baby G at Compasspoint's Cold Storage.

1st Taste Tester (daddy) : a tad sweet
2nd Taste Tester (Gu Gu) : Really nice
3rd Taste Tester (Yee Yee) : Very good

Overall :- It tastes better when it's eaten cold.

Breakfast - Potato & Cheese Pancake

This morning, Baby G woke us up really early. He kept telling us "mummy, daddy, it's morning time; wake up". So I dragged myself out of bed with him. Since I was already up, might as well start preparing our potato pancakes for breakfast.

Baby G joined me in the kitchen. He got out the step stool and stood together at the kitchen table with me. I asked him to bring me the potatoes but he refused, saying that it was 'dirty'. What a fussy boy. In the end, he helped me by breaking the cheese slices into little pieces for our potato pancakes.
